Biography

Simba Tanyanyiwa is a university lecturer and podiatry educator whose work centres on advancing early prevention and diagnosis of diabetes‑related complications. He holds an NIHR‑funded Doctorate in Health Sciences from The University of Southampton, through which he developed expertise in improving pathways for identifying foot‑related risks in people living with diabetes. His research continues to focus on innovative approaches to early detection, patient engagement, and reducing long‑term morbidity through timely, evidence‑based interventions.
Simba currently leads the pre‑registration MSc Podiatry programme, where he is committed to shaping the next generation of podiatrists through research‑informed teaching and a strong emphasis on person‑centred care. He works closely with clinical partners to ensure students gain the skills, confidence, and critical understanding required to meet contemporary healthcare challenges.
With a passion for integrating research into practice, Simba actively contributes to curriculum development, promotes interprofessional learning, and supports emerging clinicians in applying robust evidence to improve patient outcomes. His academic and research interests reflect a broader commitment to reducing health inequalities and enhancing the prevention of diabetes complications across diverse populations.
