Biography
Ruqaiah is a PhD researcher specialising in counselling and psychotherapy. Her doctoral research demonstrates a deep interest and commitment to exploring the lived experiences of young Arab Muslim international students in the UK. As a mixed-methods researcher, Ruqaiah’s scholarly approach is grounded in critical psychology, with a particular emphasis on themes such as family dynamics, familial relationships, parenting, childhood experiences, identity, faith, culture, and technology and well-being.
Ruqaiah is a qualified counsellor in the UK and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Since 2020, she has been practicing counselling, offering sessions in both Arabic and English to support a diverse client base.
