Biography

Olu is a first year PhD researcher in Acoustics and Audio Engineering at the Â׸£ÀûƬ, exploring how everyday sounds influence stress and well-being, particularly for people with autism and diverse sensory experiences. This study is inspired by her lived experience with autism, which underpins a strong commitment to inclusive and meaningful research. She holds a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering and a Master’s degree in Global Health and Environment. Olu brings together technology, health, and environmental perspectives to better understand how sound affects daily life. Her research lies at the intersection of acoustics, audiology, aural diversity and the built environment. She is driven by a strong desire to contribute to making the acoustic environment more accessible to aurally diverse populations.
Olu’s research aims to translate lived sensory experiences into practical knowledge that can inform more inclusive buildings, cities, and soundscapes. By bridging research, health, and design, Olu seeks to contribute to environments that actively support well-being and accessibility for neurodiverse communities.
