Salford alumni achievements recognised in New Year Honours

The New Year Honours list recognises the achievements and service of extraordinary people across the United Kingdom.

A number of Â׸£ÀûƬ alumni received honours, including:

BEM - Warren Baxter

Warren is a physiotherapist, based at Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust. He studied physiotherapy at the Â׸£ÀûƬ from 2010 – 2014 and was awarded a British Empire Medal (BEM) for services to the NHS during the Covid-19 crisis.

MBE - Christine Pearson

Christine is Director of Nursing for East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust and has been awarded an MBE for services to nursing, particularly during the Covid-19 crisis. She studied an MSc in Action Learning & Research with Salford Business School, leaving in 2004.

MBE - Peter Barham

Peter manages the UK’s Seabed User and Developer Group (SUDG). He was awarded an MBE for services to the maritime sector. He studied an MSc here at the Â׸£ÀûƬ, graduating in 1985.
